Robert van Mölken

Solution Architect on Blockchain, Internet of Things and Modern API development

I started my professional career as a graphic designer and web developer in 2004, but shifted my focus to Fusion Middleware after graduating in 2007. In the next 10 years I constantly developed my skill on complex integration problems. During the last two years I transitioned from building service-oriented business processes using Fusion Middleware 12c, towards connecting the physical world with the world of Internet of Things using Oracle Cloud offerings and open source solutions. This has helped me become a leader in this emerging technology. Besides investing in IoT, I also co-authored the first Oracle iPaaS book called Implementing Oracle Integration Cloud Service (published in 2017).

My fascination for using the latest technology had led to the research of Blockchain to replace the currently used B2B and B2C integration patterns and tooling. This resulted in me writing a book about Blockchain (across Oracle), which took me about 18 months, which explored the technology behind blockchain, the implications, real-world use-cases and how to implement your own permissioned blockchain.

I’m an frequent speaker at conferences, author / blogger, and participate in OTN ArchBeat Podcasts. I’m also the Technology Officer in the board of directors of the Dutch Oracle User Group (nlOUG) and organize the emergency technologies meetups. I was awarded Oracle ACE Associate in 2015, Oracle ACE in 2016, and Developer Champion in 2017 (renewed in 2018 to Oracle Groundbreaker Ambassador)
